Planning Commission
The Town of Atlantic Beach’s Planning Commission (or PC) serves a number of functions. It is an advisory board to the Town Council in that reviews and makes recommendations on zoning and land development text amendments, as well as zoning map amendments. It is the decision making body for major subdivision plats, street naming, and public project review. It hears appeals to administrative decisions arising from the Land Development Regulations section of the Land Management Ordinance, and can issue design modifications to the requirements of the LDR. It also oversees and participates in the development of the Comprehensive Plan as well as the Zoning Ordinance and the Land Development Regulations, and makes recommendations to the Town Council for and changes or amendments to those documents.
