Under the direction of the Chief of Police, assists in the overall direction of the department's internal operations; directs assigned activities of the Town of Atlantic Beach Police Department; assures the effective protection of lives, property and constitutional rights through the enforcement of laws and ordinances; formulates, develops, implements and evaluates departmental policies, goals and objectives.

Under the direction of the Chief of Police and the Lieutenant, the Corporal is committed to community policing, special events, neighborhood watch, and the overall transformation for the betterment of all residents. Additional tasks include: overseeing, organizing, training, directing activities as assigned by law enforcement personnel and equipment as instructed by Lieutenant.

The Administrative Assistant duties are as followed: computer services, records unit, planning and research, and finance section, which is responsible for the payroll, purchasing and accounts receivable services for the department. The department manages recruiting and hiring, training, internal affairs and the department's fleet of vehicles.
