2025 Atlantic Beach Gullah Geechee – Seafood and Rice Cook-Off Competition
Contestants are asked to report to 300 30th Ave, from 8:00 AM to 10 AM to check-in and receive your contestant number and competition form.
Once you receive your contestant number, we ask that you report to your stations, which will be a 10 by 10 space with one table and chair. You can decorate your space as you would like.
All dishes must be prepared before coming to the venue, and you must provide 200 samples on hand for the public to eat. You are responsible for bringing whatever serving and eating utensils you will use for sampling. In addition, you must bring the necessary items, including a food thermometer, to keep all rice dishes at the appropriate temperature according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control based on your competition dish. We will not provide electricity.
Remember, you will need to bring items to keep their station always sanitized to include but not limited to rubber gloves and hand sanitizer. Food safety first.
Competition: You will provide seven (7) samples, which will have your assigned number on the samples. Judges will rate each dish individually based on points. The categories and points are: Appearance (10 points); Texture (10 points); Taste (10 points), Flavor (10) and Consistency (10 points).
Score sheets will be tallied by the competition committee, with the winner being announced immediately after. The contestant with the most points will receive first (1st) place. Contestant with the second highest number of points, will receive second (2nd) place. Contestant with the third highest number of points will receive third (3rd) place.
PLEASE NOTE: This event WILL take place no matter the sun, rain, or snow.
